EXPAREL® is a long-lasting local anesthetic that we offer to help with pain management after your surgical procedure. Many patients who either cannot take or do not want to take narcotics and opioid drugs after their surgery now have an option for controlling their pain after oral surgery.
EXPAREL is a single dose, non-opioid medication that is injected directly into the surgical area during the procedure. Because it is a slow-release medication, it provides long-lasting pain relief – usually lasting a few days after surgery. Unlike an opioid or narcotic that affects your whole body, EXPAREL affects only the area where you had surgery.
